Lescheroux France

Paris, October 15, 2025 – The hybrid photovoltaic project in Lescheroux (Ain) has entered its construction phase. Developed by Trina Solar France Systems (TSFS) since 2020 following a call for projects launched by the municipality, the park combines a floating solar plant and a ground-mounted plant, with a total capacity of 14 MWp.

Innovative repurposing of a post-industrial site

Located on a 31-hectare former gravel pit operated by CEMEX until 2020, the project aims to repurpose an artificialized site while addressing local energy needs. It occupies less than 50% of the usable surface area, striking a balance between environmental preservation, continued agricultural activity, and renewable electricity production—enhanced by the natural cooling of the solar modules.

Strategic technical partners
For design and execution, TSFS relies on:

  • Solutions30, a European integrated EPC specialized in building energy infrastructure, overseeing the entire project up to grid integration. The company collaborates with Ciel & Terre for the supply and installation of the floating structure, and relies on its subsidiary So-Tec for the implementation of ground-mounted structures.
  • Ciel & Terre, a global leader in floating solar structures, deploying its latest-generation technology adapted to local hydrodynamic constraints (water level variations, specific anchoring systems).

Key project data
The project will install approximately 20,000 bifacial photovoltaic panels of 710 Wp each, for a total capacity of 14 MWp. Estimated annual production is 16,500 MWh, equivalent to the electricity consumption of around 7,000 inhabitants. All the electricity produced will be fed into the Enedis grid under a secured purchase agreement awarded through the CRE tender process. Construction will continue through Q1 2026, with commissioning expected in spring of the same year.

This project marks several firsts: it is the first floating solar plant in the Ain department, the first solar park of this scale in the Grand Bourg Agglomération area, and one of the first hybrid floating/ground-mounted projects in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region.

“The entire Trinasolar France Systems team, active in the French market for nearly six years, is proud to see this first project in the Ain department come to life. The Lescheroux plant symbolizes both our local commitment and our group’s openness to new collaborations with leading French partners,” according to Jérôme Sudres, Managing Director of Trinasolar France Systems.

Antoine Mirabel, Managing Director of Solutions30 France, stated: “We are honored by the trust Trina Solar France has placed in us to deliver this flagship project. This partnership confirms our leading position in the construction of photovoltaic plants, especially floating ones, in Europe, and reflects our commitment to supporting key industry players in their most innovative ventures.”

“We thank all the Trina Solar teams who contributed to the development of this remarkable hybrid solar project. This plant, the result of a long-standing collaboration, will support the much-needed energy transition in our regions. As the global leader in floating solar, Ciel & Terre is proud to have contributed to this new French project and will continue to deploy reliable, efficient, and locally adapted solutions worldwide,” said Vincent Grumetz, Director of Ciel & Terre EMEA.

This project highlights the growing momentum of hybrid photovoltaic solutions and confirms the value of a public-private governance model involving the municipality, regional funds, and specialized industrial operators.
