Today marks a major milestone in Europe’s clean energy journey: the official inauguration of the Lac Longchamps floating solar park, in Perthes, Haute-Marne. Known as Les Îlots Blandin, this landmark project was developed by Q ENERGY in partnership with Velto Renewables, Ciel & Terre, Perpetum, and Solutions30.
The project was launched in 2019 with the goal of transforming unused industrial basins into productive renewable energy assets. Construction began in 2023, culminating in full commissioning this month.
As lead representative of the consortium, Solutions30 was responsible for the cabling, grid connection, and overall commissioning of the installation — ensuring its safe, efficient, and timely delivery.
Installed on 127 hectares of former gravel pits, the facility features over 13,500 floating photovoltaic panels on innovative French-made platforms. With a total capacity of 74.3 MWp, it will supply clean electricity to the equivalent of 37,000 people — nearly 65% of the Saint-Dizier urban area — and prevent 18,000 tons of CO₂ emissions annually.
This major milestone showcases the potential of floating solar power in France and highlights the strength of collaboration between innovative private-sector partners. The project was financed with the support of Crédit Agricole Transitions & Energies and Bpifrance, with Velto Renewables acquiring a 50% stake in early 2025.
